Hale Center Theater

SanPete Steel was proud to contribute to the construction of the Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy, Utah, one of the region’s premier performing arts facilities. Spanning approximately 132,000 square feet, this landmark facility showcases the scale and complexity of a major cultural construction project.

Working alongside Layton Construction, SanPete Steel provided 1,820 tons of structural steel for the project. The size and complexity of the facility required precision, careful coordination, and exceptional attention to detail from fabrication through completion.

The Hale Centre Theatre project was recognized as the 2018 ENR Intermountain States Best Projects — Project of the Year in the Cultural/Worship category, highlighting the outstanding quality and collaboration behind the construction of this impressive facility.

Spence and Cleone Eccles Football Center

Salt Lake City

We are proud to have contributed our steel fabrication expertise on this beautiful athletic facility on the University of Utah Campus. Built for high-capacity performance under tight offseason deadlines, this 150,000-square-foot facility demonstrates our ability to deliver heavy structural steel at scale. We fabricated and erected 1,000 tons of structural steel using advanced BIM modeling and lean jobsite logistics to eliminate field modifications, protect the critical path, and keep project costs on target for our general contractor partners.

Mid Valley Performing Arts Center

Sanpete Steel was proud to play a key role in the construction of the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center, a landmark 70,000-square-foot cultural facility serving communities throughout Salt Lake County. Working alongside Jacobsen Construction, Sanpete fabricated and delivered 640 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for this highly specialized performing arts project.

The complex structure required careful coordination between steel framing, the theater fly loft, roof systems, and massive concrete shear walls reaching 56 feet in the main theater. Sanpete’s precision fabrication and coordination helped ensure the steel package integrated seamlessly with the demanding architectural and structural requirements of the facility.

Recognized as the 2021 ENR Intermountain Best Project in the Cultural/Worship category, the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center demonstrates Sanpete’s ability to deliver high-quality steel solutions for complex, high-profile facilities.

BYU Music Building

Provo, Utah

SanPete Steel was proud to provide the structural steel expertise behind the BYU Music Building in Provo, Utah, a 170,000-square-foot facility designed to support music education, performance, and collaboration. Working alongside Big-D Construction, our team fabricated and delivered 1,175 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for this landmark university project.

Stein Eriksen Residences

Park City, Utah

Executing luxury mountain developments demands rigorous structural engineering and tight logistical planning. Across this 250,000-square-foot resort complex, we fabricated and erected over 500 tons of custom structural steel designed to support extreme alpine snow loads while integrating architecturally exposed steel details (AESS). Despite severe winter weather, steep terrain, and limited staging areas, our pre-construction coordination and scheduled deliveries kept site erection on schedule without compromising safety or quality.

Alta High School

Sandy, Utah

Sanpete Steel was proud to contribute to the transformation of Alta High School, providing 508 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel alongside Hughes General Contractors Inc. The project included a new 62,431-square-foot performing arts center featuring a 1,400-seat auditorium, fly loft, orchestra pit, and extensive rigging systems.

The project’s complex construction included 65 massive tilt-up panels, with the tallest reaching more than 75 feet. The performing arts center was recognized with an Award of Merit in the Cultural/Worship category at the 2021 ENR Intermountain Best Projects.

Working alongside Okland Construction, our team fabricated and delivered 1,947 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for this large-scale project.

Orem Family Fitness Center

Orem, Utah

Sanpete Steel was proud to contribute to the transformation of the Orem Family Fitness Center, providing 367 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel for the major expansion and renovation. Working alongside Big-D Construction, our team fabricated the steel package for this 131,320-square-foot community facility.

The project required precise steel fabrication and coordination within an active existing facility, including structural steel framing for the expansion and an elevated running track surrounding the new basketball court. The construction team also navigated significant site and scheduling challenges while keeping the project moving.

The Orem Family Fitness Center was recognized with an Award of Merit in the Sports/Entertainment category at the 2021 ENR Intermountain Best Projects, highlighting the quality and execution of this major community project.
