President
Jeff began his career in steel fabrication in 1985 as an estimator. He has moved from yardman to purchasing agent, to outside sales, to project manager. As President and General Manger, he oversees estimating, design-build, sales, finance and all other operations of the company.

Matthew Taylor
Operations Manager
Matt has 14 years experience in the steel construction industry, starting as a laborer and moving up to certified welder, foreman, and field superintendent, also gaining field experience in quality control and inspection. He is responsible for management of the shop and yard and oversees the purchasing and shiping functions. He visits our job sites on a frequent basis to make sure that our work in the shop satisfies completely the needs of our field work. Matt is certified as a Welding Inspector by the American Welding Society (AWS).
Lynn Clayburn
Senior Project Manager/Company Safety Director
Erection Division
Lynn has almost 40 years of experience in the steel construction industry. Beginning in 1972 his career advanced from apprentice iron worker, foreman, and project manager to President and General Manager of his own steel erection company. Lynn has been involved in every aspect of the industry. With his abundance of knowledge and experience dealing with the various entities in the field or in the office, Lynn is there to make sure the job runs smoothly and completely.
Jason Larson
Chief Estimator/Lead Project Manager
Jason started with Sanpete Steel in 1994. His experience includes everything from operating equipment, purchasing, and material cost analysis to estimating and project management. Jason is our Chief Estimator, overseeing bid preparations and scheduling for all jobs. As Lead Project Manager, Jason works closely with our clients, striving to insure quality customer relations and service as well as scheduling work and timely delivery of materials.
Doug Johnson
General Manager
Doug has more than 30 years experience in heavy industry and is a registered Professional Engineer. He has overall responsibility for all daily operations at our Moroni facility and makes sure the company as a whole is functioning efficiently and all departments are working together effectively. Doug also performs in–house engineering and detailing as needed.
Mike Hanson
Supt/VP General Construction Division
Mike joined Sanpete Steel early in 2010 to head our General Construction Division. Mike prepares bids and oversees field work on projects where we perform as the Prime Contractor. Mike spent many years working his way up to the position of project superintendent with Jacobsen Construction and also spent several years as superintendent with Bush Decor, both in the Salt Lake area.
Kevin Burgess
Quality Control/Quality Assurance Manager
Kevin oversees our Quality Control/Quality Assurance functions as they relate to all aspects of plant operations, from procurement of materials to shipping of completed items. He directs inspection and testing for all fabrication operations within our facility and ensures that we follow the appropriate requirements for each fabrication as called for on the drawings and in the project specifications. Kevin has performed in every job function in our operation and that experience is key to his ability to oversee quality control. Kevin is our representative for maintaining certification by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and he is certified as a Welding Inspector by the American Welding Society (AWS).
